Cherry Blossoms

This week we completed a fun spring-y project.

Last week, after finishing up our sunsets, the kids prepped a background for their cherry tree paintings. This just meant using our largest paintbrushes to paint a big white piece of paper a pretty light blue.

This week, with the light blue papers dry, we were ready to add our cherry trees. We began by using squares of cardboard as tools for printing. The kids dipped the edge of their cardboard into brown paint then pressed those edges onto the paper to create the trunk of a tree. This was followed by carefully printing the branches on.

Last (but not least), the kids used empty thread spools to add bright pink cherry blossoms to their trees.

These trees have so much personality! Hope you enjoyed them!
